LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT TRAINING OFFICER
(SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND HARASSMENT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE)

The Learning and Development Training Officer at St Angela’s will
support the Atlantic Technological University (ATU) Sexual Violence
and Harassment Prevention and Response Programme (SVHPR) through
developing, delivering and evaluating a suite of trauma informed and
accessible training materials, resources and events for students and
staff of ATU. The trauma informed training and development programme
will be designed and delivered with ongoing monitoring and evaluation
to help reduce the risk of sexual violence and harassment and to help
ensure that students and staff at ATU are fully versed in ATU policy
and procedures related to preventing and responding to sexual violence
and harassment.

The post holder will support the Sexual Violence and Harassment
Prevention and Response Manager (SVHPRM) to develop programmes which
will engage and support an extensive and diverse community of students
and staff across ATU to confidently be active bystanders and
supporters who can actively intervene and respond effectively to all
forms of sexual violence and harassment.

The post holder will also support the SVHPRM in developing initiatives
which will help to create an environment where members of the ATU
community will feel comfortable and know how to report and access
supports when they have experienced any form of sexual violence or
sexual harassment. The post holder will also compile, maintain and
administrate reports and resources/budget affiliated to the programme
activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The post will include, but will not be limited to, the following
duties:

* Establishing relationships with all relevant internal and external
stakeholders.
* Supporting the development of policy and procedures in ATU.
* Conducting a thorough needs assessment to gauge the training needs
of different staff/ student cohorts in ATU.
* Developing a project plan for the development, delivery,
documentation and evaluation of the training and events programme.
* Ensuring that all programme deliverables are accessible, and
trauma informed.
* Developing a communications plan for the roll out of the SVHPR
policy and procedure to all staff and students.
* Procuring training materials and providers as needed in line with
ATU policy and project timelines.
* Coordinating the creation of visual, video, and interactive
learning tools and materials for different audiences.
* Delivering accessible multi-modal tailored in-house training and
engagement events ensuring safe, inclusive and respectful
environments.
* Coordinating the scheduling and delivery of all training events.
* Developing and coordinating the administration of training
including recruitment, bookings, supplies, records, reports, and
evaluations in line with GDPR and HR Policy and any other
requirements.
* Tracking training and awareness, specifically to analyse the
successful completion of short and long-term goals.
* Working collaboratively where appropriate with other areas within
the Institute e.g., students, staff, faculties, T&L partners.
* Co-ordinating and disseminating any publicity or information
material relating to the Sexual Violence and Harassment Prevention and
Response programme in ATU (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, newsletter
etc).
* Participating in all relevant committees/groups as assigned.
* Representing ATU at any external fora as assigned.
* Providing programme and administrative support to the SVHPR
Manager.
* Undertaking relevant CPD to ensure knowledge and practice is
current in the field of work.

To undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by
the line manager and/or University Authorities.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

* Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field of study.
* Have the requisite knowledge, skills, and competencies to carry
out the role.
* Be capable and competent of fulfilling the role to a high
standard.Have at least two years in a Grade III post, or equivalent,
or higher, in the Education and Training Sector or equivalent
experience in a relevant sector.
* On date of appointment, have a full clean driving licence
(Category B) and use of own vehicle.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

* Experience of working in a related field such as in the prevention
of sexual and/or domestic violence and harassment, social work,
student support, mental health, social services, community
development, justice, equality, diversity and inclusion or community
education.
* Experience in the development of training/education materials.
* Demonstratable knowledge of trauma informed practice including in
the delivery of training programmes and awareness events.
* Experience of delivering consent workshops and/or sexual violence
disclosure training and or trauma informed practice training.
* Digital media/ learning qualification or experience or
qualification in instruction and/or learning design or equivalent work
experience.
* Proficient in MS Office.
* Strong desktop and in-person research, presentation, and reporting
skills.
* Energetic, determined, and highly capable disposition.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with
information in a confidential manner.
* The ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
* Demonstratable knowledge of issues of concern related to sexual
violence and harassment in Higher Education settings.

SALARY

The salary scale is € *,**Apply on the

first point of the scale; we cannot give any guarantees that prior

LOCATION:

The post will be based at St. Angela's College, Lough Gill, Sligo with
a requirement to travel across ATU campuses as needed.
